Fifth Publishers' Tour for Children's and Youth Literature

From 22 to 26 February, the Flemish literature fund (FLF) will be welcoming ten publishers from all around the world, submerging them in our vibrant children's and youth literature. They will be introduced to publishers, illustrators and authors and discover our flourishing (literary) culture in Antwerp and Ghent.

Once again, our international guests are a colourful and varied company:

Irina Balakhonova (Samokat – Russia)

Marie Augustsson (Natur och Kultur – Sweden)

Burcu Ünsal (Redhouse – Turkey)

Alessandro Gelso (Mondadori – Italy)

Michael Stehle (Urachhaus – Germany)

Dinah Stevenson (Clarion Books – US)

Frédéric Gauthier (La Pastèque – Canada)

Monica Romero (Castillo – Mexico)

Viktória Dian (Móra Publishing – Hungary)

Ljiljana Marinkovic (Kreativni Centar – Serbia)

On Monday evening, these ten renowned publishers will be welcomed at an opening reception in the magnificent Nottebohmzaal room of the Hendrik Conscience Heritage Library, where they will already be able to meet lots of people from the literary world. The programme later in the week includes an illustrators' workshop, where they will be able to take a peek at the working methods of ten of our best illustrators. Authors will be taking them round in small groups to see the prettiest places in Ghent, too. Naturally, they will also be able to talk to all the major Flemish and Dutch publishers of Flemish talent.
