‘Nieuwe sterrenbeelden' (New constellations) by Peter Verhelst won the award for best poetry collection published in 2008. The prize for the best debut was for ‘Tijd en landen' (Time and countries) by Willem van Zadelhoff. The public elected ‘Moeders' (Mothers) by Luuk Gruwez as the best poem of the year.
Both Gruwez and Verhelst published their books with a grant from the Flemish Literature Fund.
