Madrid welcomes Stefan Brijs and Geert Kimpen

Brijs and Kimpen to promote the Spanish translation of ‘The Angel Maker' and ‘ The Cabbalist'.

 

On 24 February, at the invitation of his Spanish publisher Alianza, Stefan Brijs will be talking with Camilo José Cela Conde, son of Spanish Nobel Prize winner Camilo José Cela. The occasion is the publication of the Spanish translation of Brijs' book ‘The Angel Maker'.

 


cover El hacedor de ángeles, Stefan BrijsCela Conde himself is a writer as well as professor of Human Evolution at UIB (Universitat de les Illes Balears) in Palma. The meeting will take place at the Fundación Carlos de Amberes in Madrid. In the morning, there will first be a press conference about the translation ‘El Hacedor de Ángeles'.

 

‘The Angel Maker' has been particularly well received by foreign publishers. With support from the Flemish Literature Fund, the book has already appeared in seven languages: English, German, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Turkish and Hebrew. Five more translations are in preparation.

 

‘The Cabbalist' by Geert Kimpen is also enjoying success abroad. German, Portuguese, Hebrew and Estonian translations will soon be followed by a Spanish one. Kimpen will be travelling to Madrid in the first half of March. To mark the publication of ‘El Cabalista', publisher Maeva is organising a meeting with the press and a public reading.
