Mamma Medea in Barcelona
‘Mamma Medea', the internationally most-renowned play by Tom Lanoye, premieres in Barcelona on Saturday 29 November. The play will be on the bill of the Teatre Romea for two months.
The translation into Catalan was funded by the Flemish Literature Fund.
This the 20th production of ‘Mamma Medea', in the fifth language. The 2001 premiere of the play was in the hands of the Antwerp-based Toneelhuis starring Els Dottermans in the leading role. It is now played for the second season by the Münchener Kammerspiele and it premieres on 14 January 2009 at the Thalia Theatre in Hamburg.
