Literary encounters in Nantes

Holland and Flanders guests-of-honour at literary festival in Nantes (France)

French organisation Impressions d'Europe is the host of the annual literary festival in Nantes which presents European literary encounters. The 4th edition of the Rencontres littéraires européennes showcases the Dutch-language region with support from the Flemish Literature Fund and the Foundation for the Production and Translation of Dutch Literature (NLPVF). Last year's festival welcomed the Scandinavian countries.

Affiche Festival NantesDebates with authors, publishers, typographers and cartoonists, as well as exhibitions, movies and a book store offer a sample overview of the rich literary practice and tradition in Holland and Flanders.

On Saturday and Sunday the authors take the stage. Kader Abdolah, Benno Barnard, Oscar van den Boogaard, Adriaan van Dis, Kristien Hemmerechts, Stefan Hertmans, Thomas Lieske, Anne Provoost, Annelies Verbeke and Dimitri Verhulst will engage in debates on various subjects with each other and with French colleagues.

A Flemish DJ and a Dutch café are to add a festive touch.
