Both authors are not unknown at the French Valhalla of the comic strip: last year Evens was awarded the Prix de l'Audace for 'Les Noceurs', the French translation of 'Ergens waar je niet wil zijn'. Schrauwen was nominated twice: in 2007 for 'Mon fiston' ('My boy') and in 2011 with 'L'homme qui se laissait pousser la barbe' ('De man die zijn baard liet groeien').
Art Spiegelman, chairman of the jury in 2012, is already wildly enthusiastic about Schrauwen's talent: "Olivier Schrauwen is extraordinary. He's inspriring, the most original graphic novelist I've come across since Ware and Katchor."
