Paris gets its first Flemish comic wall

On 11 July 2011, the Flemish Representation's courtyard at 6, rue Euler, Paris, was adorned with a comic wall entitled La Flandre met Paris en bulles (Flanders fills Paris with bubbles). Nic Vandermarliere, representative of the Flemish government in France, and Luc Fabry, economic and commercial attaché to the Flemish Region, are enthusiastic about the project and demonstrate a durable dedication to supporting comic strips in France in the future.

Pieter de Poortere in front of his comic wall in ParisThe FLF commissioned graphic novelist Pieter de Poortere to create the design. Characters brought to life by De Poortere himself, Brecht Evens, Olivier Schrauwen, Judith Vanistendael, Randall.C and Jeroen Janssen that have been translated into French have left the pages of their books to become part of a Parisian décor.
