Change in foreign subsidy levels 2011

The economic crisis has also affected the Flemish government's budget and our operational resources. For the second year in a row, the Flemish Literature Fund has to make cuts. For 2011 we are therefore obliged to amend a number of subsidy regulations for supporting foreign publishers and organisations.   

The maximum translation grant in 2011 will be 60 percent of the translation costs.

 

The maximum travel grant to assist in the travelling costs incurred by an author promoting his or her translation abroad will be 500 euros in 2011. What this means in concrete terms is that if a ticket costs more, only 500 euros of the cost will be subsidised.

 

We sincelerely regret having to take these measures. We hope to be able to resume the usual percentages and amounts in 2012.
