Illustrator Carll Cneut inspires British children

Carll Cneut, one of the most successful illustrators in Flanders, is an important guest at The Children's Bookshow, an annual tour of children's authors and illustrators through the UK. Cneut is one of twelve artists who want to inspire school children with their passion for 'Stories from around the world', this year's central theme.

Cneut's work has been translated into more than twenty languages. He has received lots of important prizes, but the most prestigious nomination came in March 2010. Cneut was one of only five illustrators shorlisted for the Hans Christian Award, a prize that is presented to a living author and illustrator whose works are judged to 'have made lasting contributions to children's literature'.

Carll Cneut will talk about his work on September 22 in Oxford and on September 23 in London.
