Years of the Elephant_Willy Linthout_bericht.jpgThis news is the icing on the cake for a real prize winner: ‘Years of the Elephant' received the Dutch Stripschapspenning Award for best literary graphic novel 2007, the Flemish Community Cultural Award 2008, the Bronze Adhemar 2009 and the Carolus Quintus Award 2009.

‘Years of the Elephant', published by Meulenhoff/Manteau, tells the story of a father who tries to pick up the pieces of his life after the suicide of his young son. He is tormented by ambivalent feelings of loneliness, love and incomprehension. Linthout's impressive semi-autobiographical book has already been translated into English (Fanfare/Ponent Mon) and Spanish (Ponent Mon).
