The Flemish Literature Fund supports Dutch-language literature in Belgium and abroad.
Brussels-based non-profit organization ‘Littérature à voix haute' (Literature out loud) organizes a literary festival on 3, 4 and 5 October: ‘Le marathon des mots' (Marathon of words). Authors Joseph Pearce and Kristien Hemmerechts will attend the programme on 5 October at Passa Porta. Actors will read from French translations of their books.
Pearce's 'Maanzaad' (Poppy Seeds, translated in French by Annie Kroon) was published this Spring by Actes Sud. A few titles by Hemmerechts are available in French, such as 'De tuin der onschuldigen' (The garden of the innocent) and 'Donderdagmiddag. Halfvier' (Thursday afternoon. Three thirty).
