The nominated titles are:
- ‘Dit is van mij' ( This is mine) by Saskia de Coster
- 'Puinvrouw in Berlijn' (Berlin woman in ruins) by Hilde Keteleer
- ‘Sprakeloos' (Speechless) by Tom Lanoye
- ‘De donkere kant van de zon' (The dark side of the sun) by Bart Meuleman
- ‘De bewaker' (The guard) by Peter Terrin
Famous Dutch writers on the list are Arnon Grunberg, Cees Nooteboom and Tommy Wieringa, to name but three of them.
Sixteen books are in the running to win the Golden Owl award for Children's and Youth Literature. The Flemish titles that made the longlist are: 
- ‘De hondeneters' (The dog eaters) by Marita De Sterck
- ‘Het Fantastische Verhaal van Ferre en Frie' (The fantastic story of Ferre and Frie) by Siska Goeminne
- ‘Balthazar, de eenzaamste ezel ooit' (Balthazar, the loneliest donkey ever) by Inge Misschaert and Marieke Coenen
- ‘De kleine Odesssa' (Little Odessa) by Peter van Olmen
- and last but not least ‘De zomerzot' (The summer fool) by André Sollie, which already won the prestigious Book Peacock
The shortlist will be announced on 15 March, the winner on 25 April.
