Van Istendael and Lasters on Poetry International Web

In November, Flemish poets Geert van Istendael and Ruth Lasters will be introduced to the international public on Poetry International Web (PIW).

Translator and poet Willem Groenwegen selected six poems by van Istendael and translated them into English. Poetry reviewer Cathérine de Kock added an enlightening portrait of the author. Van Istendael's poetry has been translated into several languages already, amongst others French, German and some Central-European languages. The English translations on PIW will serve to introduce his work in the Anglo-Saxon regions.

Beside van Istendael, the focus will be on Ruth Lasters. Dutch poet Erik Lindner wrote a portrait of her work as a writer and renowned translator Paul Vincent translated six of her poems into English.
