10 years Lyrikline

This year, the international poetry website lyrikline.org celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Lyrikline.org is the platform on the internet on which poems are available to listen to, and to read both in their original languages and various translations: a concert of verse in the voices and languages of the authors. By now the website contains 580 poets and 5300 poems in 49 languages as well as 6400 translations in as many languages! From Flanders, you can find poems by classic masters such as Hugo Claus, Paul Snoek and Christine D'Haen as well as by contemporary poets, such as Leonard Nolens, Miriam Van hee and Dirk van Bastelaere.

10 years LyriklineDuring the 10th anniversary celebration week from 26 to 31 October, there will be several events organised by the international partners of lyrikline.org. The Flemish Literature Fund, the Flemish partner of Lyrikline, set up a poetry programme, together with the NLPVF, the Flemish Representation and the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands.

On 28 November, poets Mark van Tongele (Flanders), Luuk Gruwez (Flanders), Victor Schiferli (The Netherlands) and Ramsey Nasr (The Netherlands) will read at Poetry Below Sea-Level. The programme promises an evening of novelty and surprises, a journey of discovery into a poetic landscape that is almost unknown here, in the company of young poets. Singer-songwriter Ma Rain will engage the poets in a sound dialogue and provide entertainment between the readings.
