Miriam Van hee charms Japanese poet

The Flemish Literature Fund (FLF) is the Belgian partner of Poetry International Web, the international poetry website that presents poets from over 40 countries. The FLF posted amongst others the works of Miriam Van hee. Van hee's poems caught the attention of renowned Japanese poet and author Yasuhiro Yotsumoto.

cover Instead of silence by Miriam Van heeYotsumoto contacted the FLF to find out more about Van hee's poetry. With the help and advice offered by the FLF, he translated a selection of her poems into Japanese, starting from German, French and English translations that were available. The Japanese translations were published in the Spring issue of the poetry review ‘Beagle'.

 

Aside from Van hee, the issue focuses on about fifteen other European poets, such as Adam Zagajewski (Poland) and Linda Maria Baros (France/Rumania).
