Our visits to book fairs and our international activities are paying off. Translations of Flemish titles are rolling off the presses. So, we sent authors out to promote their translations. Lieve Joris and Philip Paquet, for example. Joris read from her first Norwegian translation in Norway and in France she accepted a prize for 'De hoogvlaktes' (The upland plains). Paquet read, drew and played a DJ set in comics-loving Italy. Also, this week the long-expected American translation of Hugo Claus' 'De verwondering' is presented at the Flanders House in New York. Last but not least, Leo Pleysier is featured in American review Absinthe. And there's a lot more in the pipeline: a French translation of prize winner 'In de zon kijken' (Looking into the sun) by Anne Provoost, Turkish translations and an international theatre tour for Paul Pourveur and Eric De Volder, a trip to Colombia for Peter Holvoet-Hanssen and a guest-of-honour programme in Slovenia.
