This newsletter reports on the four-day visit of Dimitri Verhulst to Prague to promote the Czech translation of 'Goddamn days on a goddamn globe'. The literary journal Host made room for a substantial contribution of literature from Flanders. Also in Eastern Europe, the Hungarian translation of Hugo Claus' magnum opus 'The Sorrow of Belgium' was published.

Brecht Evens now also is nominated for a prestigious Eisner Award and Ephameron left a wall painting on Coney Island.

Carlo Van Baelen, present director of The Flemish Literature Fund, will retire at the end of this year. Koen Van Bockstal is appointed as his successor. This newsletter briefly introduces the new director.
