Vondel Translation Prize

The award for the best translation of a prominent Dutch-language literary or cultural-historical book into English.

Frequency: two-yearly

Organization: The award is instituted by the English Society of Authors and financed by the Foundation for the Production and Translation of Dutch Literature (NLPVF) and the Flemish Literature Fund (FLF).

 

Winner 2009: Sam Garrett, Ararat (Harvill Secker) - translation of Ararat by Frank Westerman 

Winner 2007: Susan Massotty, My Father's Notebook (Canongate) - translation of Spijkerschrift by Kader Abdolah 
Winner 2005: Diane Webb, Colors Demonic and Divine (Columbia University Press) - translation of Van karmozijn, purper en blauw by Herman Pleij
