Grants for illustrated books
Foreign publishers who wish to publish a literary work by a Flemish illustrator or graphic novelist are eligible to receivegrants for illustrated books. The objective here is to stimulate foreign publications of high quality picture books and graphic novels.
This grant involves more than the translation, because the translation costs for illustrated books are often minimal. Extra funds should allow for extra efforts with respect to promotion, high-quality production and active distribution. All related costs are taken into account when the amount of the grant is determined.
