Grants for poetry

The Flemish Literature Fund awards subsidies to foreign publishers to facilitate the publication abroad of work by Dutch-speaking Belgian poets, that was originally published by a Dutch or Flemish professional publishing house.


The following publications qualify for support:

  • single-author poetry collections, written in Dutch by a Belgian poet and originally published by a Flemish or Dutch publishing house;
  • anthologies of poems written by Dutch-speaking Belgian poets;
  • anthologies of poetry in Dutch, written by Dutch and Flemish poets (together with the Dutch Foundation for Literature);
  • texts by Flemish poets who are invited to attend an international poetry festivals, and who feature in brochures or appear on stage.


A poetry grant covers up to 100% of the translation costs and up to 25% of the production costs of a publication.
