Colouring Outside the Lines

Colouringoutsidethelines150.jpg'Colouring Outside the Lines' tells the story of 22 illustrators whose skill and creativity have enriched and expanded the world of children's literature.
Their illustrations open up the texts with power and sincerity. Each in their own way, these illustrators also colour outside the lines of the story, using a dash of humour, an anecdote or a surprising picture.
These are Flemish illustrators who are looking for a visual language that appeals to both adults and children.

'Colouring Outside the Lines' investigates the development of each illustrator's work and shows how to read their illustrations. Every shape, every colour and every line has a meaning. The better you are at deciphering that meaning, the richer the story becomes and the more pleasure you find in reading it.
