News: Flemish authors on longlist Gouden Uil Award
The longlists for the Gouden Uil (Golden Owl) Awards for Literary Fiction and Children's and Youth Literature were announced on Wednesday 24 February. Amongst the fourteen nominees for Literary Fiction are five Flemish authors: Saskia de Coster, Hilde Keteleer, Tom Lanoye, Bart Meuleman and Peter Terrin:
- 'Dit is van mij' ( This is mine) by Saskia de Coster
- 'Puinvrouw in Berlijn' (Berlin woman in ruins) by Hilde Keteleer
- ‘Sprakeloos' (Speechless) by Tom Lanoye
- ‘De donkere kant van de zon' (The dark side of the sun) by Bart Meuleman
- ‘De bewaker' (The guard) by Peter Terrin
On the agenda: Stefan Brijs invited in Paris
On 26 March, the Paris-based Institut Néerlandais and Flemish-Dutch association Ons Erfdeel organize a literary evening featuring recently translated Dutch-language novels. The event will take place during the yearly book fair Salon du Livre. Flemish author Stefan Brijs and his Dutch colleagues Charlotte Mutsaers and Thomas Lieske are the guests of the evening. They will debate with Margot Dijkgraaf, literary critic for Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad and director of the Academic and Cultural Centre SPUI25.
